Methaphysics and Philosophy
of Wanted  Research Group

In affiliation with the Federal University of Bahia Department of Philosophy and Philosophy Graduate Program, and registered under the Directory of CNPq Research Groups, the Research Group “Metaphysics and Philosophy of Will” aims to study the works of Immanuel Kant (1724-1804), Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) and Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900). “Metaphysics and Philosophy of Will” seeks to primarily address the interests of the assembly of UFBA’s Philosophy Undergraduate students, who develop monographic research on subjects related to the philosophers previously mentioned. Additionally, the Research Group seeks to welcome undergraduate researchers who intend to apply to a Graduate Program. Research projects are developed by delving deeper into systematic studies regarding fundamental subjects and concepts relating to the understanding of the aforementioned authors, and possible analysis of their respective commentators.

Projects are executed through bibliographic reading, followed by philosophical discussion to elucidate any issues in the authors’ works. The group also facilitates academic meetings, which assist, complement and allow deepening of student members’ research projects, or even of students or researchers beyond the group, or those with an interest in the subjects discussed. Although the group primarily focuses on the study of the philosophers listed above, the study of other authors whose works are somehow related to the former are not exempt.
